Owned kits first. Optional help stays optional.

SteelThumb can sell build help, workshops, shared grow plans, and community support later, but the core kit, local garden data, safety docs, setup docs, and promised order support should not require a subscription.

Included with the owned kit

  • Physical kit components purchased by the customer
  • Basic setup, safety, repair, and maintenance documentation
  • Access to local garden data created by the customer system
  • Local control paths needed to water plants, stop pumps, or inspect device state
  • Warranty, returns, replacement-part, safety-escalation, and order-support paths promised at purchase
  • Released source files, firmware, and hardware documentation under their stated licenses

Optional paid help

  • Live build help or office hours
  • Community support spaces
  • Workshops and seasonal planning sessions
  • Shared grow plans, templates, and crop schedules
  • Advanced troubleshooting beyond the included warranty and support boundary
  • Deeper education resources for families who want guided help

Subscription controls

  • No community, membership, workshop, or support subscription SKU is approved yet
  • Future optional services must be cataloged separately from Grow Kit, SeedPort, and PlotTags
  • Optional services must not be required to operate purchased hardware or access local garden data
  • Policy, privacy, cancellation, refund, and support handling must be approved before any subscription checkout exists
